Hello everyone... Today was day 2 of the first week of camp here at Camp Mountain Run. Our day starts off EARLY... We had 20 Scouts attend the Polar Bear Swim this morning. What the Scouts have to do,go to the pool at 6:30 in the morning, shower off, and when they are told to, jump into the pool, and stay there for 20 minutes. Today the air outside was 57 degrees, and the water in the pool was 68 degrees... In order to earn the patch, the Scouts must attend all 5 days of Polar Bear Swim... We will see how many show up tomorrow.
Today I stopped in on our Nature Director Skye, and her Space Exploration Merit Badge Class. They were going over the Historical Reasons, Goals and Benefits of Space Exploration.
Next, I dropped by the Health Office, and Nick, our Health Officer, had brought out and old friend. The Scouts were learning CPR on Recessa Annie.
I went back to Hallstrom Lodge, and I saw a group of people out back. When I looked, I saw it was our Range Assistant, Leon. He was going over Firearm Safety, and they were watching a video about it.
After Supper tonight, there was the 1/4 Mile Swim, and the Volleyball Tournament. I wish I could tell you who won, but that is still undecided. It is down to 2 troops, Troop 9, and Troop 28. They will play the Finals Wednesday Night at 7:00.
Tomorrow, we have the first running of the new IronScout Competition, and more pictures from around camp.
Cya tomorrow!
