Day 4, Wet Day At The Lake

Wednesday's at Camp Mountain Run are busy from Reveille to Taps. We have multiple activities for everyone!

First Off... Polar Bear Swim!!!

Scouts learning Orienteering Merit Badge...

At the C.O.P.E. Course playing Samurai...

Working on Wood Carving Merit Badge...

Writing a letter to their Congressmen in Citizenship...

Or practicing their bugle calls for Bugling Merit Badge...

BUT since it is Wednesday, that means it is also Wet Day At the Lake here at CMR! For those who do not know what that is, I'll explain. For all three Lake Front Merit Badges; Canoeing, Rowing, and Small Boat Sailing you must "swamp" or capsize your boat, and bring it back to shore. It can be VERY tough!

Since it is Wednesday, and Wet Day At The Lake, that also means it is OA Day. The Order of the Arrow is a service organization that does a lot of great work for Camp Mountain Run. The OA does their yearly "tapouts" here at CMR, and it is great seeing the Scouts in their Native American regalia preforming a ceremony mainly unchanged since the 1940's.

Thats all for today...

As you can see, Wednesdays are extremely busy here at Camp Mountain Run... But thats what makes this camp awesome.
